This recipe shows how to cook Garlic Butter Shrimp the Filipino way on The Golden Genius. This super easy dish will be one of the most favorite dishes your family and friends will love to eat!

Garlic Butter Shrimp is one of my favorite recipes to make. It's spicy, smoky and buttery, with a hint of garlic – perfect as an appetizer, or main meal. The Chipotle sauce is so easy to make, you can drizzle it over tacos!

Our Garlic Butter Shrimp recipe is made of shrimp, butter, garlic lemon soda. It's a favorite among kids since it’s sweet and the taste of garlic is overpowering. If you want to introduce them to other cuisines, this is a good choice.

Garlic butter shrimp with lemon lime soda

Garlic Butter Shrimp is simply made of Shrimp, garlic, butter and lemon lime soda. Don’t take the lemon lime soda for granted because it is a major ingredient. It refers to soda pop such as Sprite, 7Up, Sierra Mist and the likes. The sweet taste of this dish is attributed to this ingredient. It also blends well with butter and garlic.

How to Cook Garlic Butter Shrimp Filipino Style

First, start by cleaning the shrimp. Then cut the antennae as much as possible and peel off the shell or scales. Devein each piece and wash thoroughly until it's clean. Marinate in lemon soda; I do this by arranging the shrimp in a bowl, then add lemon soda, and let it sit for around 10 minutes before cooking.

Garlic Butter Sauce

This garlicky buttery shrimp is basically just butter and garlic but it's so delicious. We put a melting pat of butter into the pan that sizzles and pops when the shrimp get added to it. Then we sauté the shrimp until they are golden brown. The butter turns into a light coating that leaves your mouth watering with each piece you pop. It's like a completely different sauce at this point which may or may not be a good thing depending on how you feel about sauces served separately. I personally love how it balances out the flavor of all other elements and gives the dish a touch of an Asian flavor profile.

This Garlic Butter Shrimp recipe is going to blow you away! We're using only a few ingredients, and they pack a lot of flavors. Here's what you need: butter, garlic, shrimp, and lemon. Melt the butter in a pan over low heat, then add finely chopped garlic. Once the garlic starts to turn brown, it's time to move onto the next ingredient: shrimp. Cook the shrimps in a hot skillet while stirring occasionally; 5 minutes max. Season with salt and pepper to taste and squeeze-in some lemon juice, then top with chopped fresh parsley. Dinner is ready!

What goes with garlic butter shrimp?

Garlic butter shrimp with white rice is a Filipino recipe. Garlic butter shrimps are sautéed in garlic butter then mixed in with the warm rice. The dish is best eaten without any additional condiments because it tastes delicious on its own. Also, you can have this topped off with toasted slices of French bread and drizzled with more melted garlic butter if you like.

How to Make Garlic Butter Shrimp Pasta

This easy garlic butter shrimp recipe can be made with pasta or with rice. The same recipe applies, you just use frozen shrimp with no head and shell, or simply remove the head and shell from fresh shrimp.

To make Garlic Butter Shrimp, cook your pasta according to package instructions. Set the cooked pasta aside and cook the shrimp. I suggest using spaghetti or linguine. Add ½ cup of white wine towards the end. Finish by adding some red pepper flakes. Toss both onto a pan in a stovetop before serving.

Alternative ingredients

This is a Garlic Butter Shrimp recipe made with lemon, lime or calamansi and margarine (or butter). Don’t go crazy on the lemon because the dish can get sour. The idea is to make the dish tastes fresh with a hint of sweetness. We recommend using garlic powder instead of using fresh garlic.
